Catholic Charities is one of the seven community-based organizations. It provides emergency rental assistance (ERA) to residents serving low-income D.C. residents through the city’s program.

The Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) is available to all D.C. residents. It helps residents who earn less than 40% of the area median income. When they face a housing emergency, they get money for overdue rent.

The program also helps with late fees and court costs if eligible families face eviction. Additionally, it supports security deposits and the first month’s rent for residents moving into new rental units. However, under the Emergency Rental Assistance Program, the amount paid by eligible households depends on available resources and is subject to certain limitations.
