Illinois Court-Based Rental Assistance Program (CBRAP): Application Apply

If you are a resident of Illinois as a tenant or landlord, you have an opportunity to participate in the Illinois Court-Based Rental Assistance Program. Illinois CBRAP provides funding to tenants and landlords in Illinois whose cases are pending in eviction court.

The CBRAP program is only available to people filing claims in eviction court. A tenant can qualify for up to $25,000 in emergency rental payments in Illinois. It includes payment of 15 months of outstanding rent and also provides 3 months of future rent to prevent eviction.

  • Must involved in eviction proceedings in court due to non-payment.

  • Government-issued photo ID (regardless of expiration date)
  • Address Proof
  • Evidence of household income
  • Evidence of past-due rent

Landlords

  • Eviction court complaint, summons, and court case number
  • Identity or LLC proof, Certificate of Good Standing, or Articles of Incorporation
  • Proof of ownership/landlords

  • Fully complete and current property management agreement.
